We received the first details about Buick's new Regal eAssist earlier today, but we've just returned from seeing the car in person before the Chicago Auto Show officially kicks off tomorrow. Visually, the more fuel-efficient Regal looks no different than the standard car, save the addition of eco-friendly 17-inch alloy wheels and low-rolling-resistance tires.
What's most important about this car is what's under the hood – a 15-kilowatt electric motor that offers 15 horsepower and 110 pound-feet of torque for initial acceleration thrust, matched with Buick's 2.4-liter direct-injected inline-four. Combine that with regenerative braking and a start/stop system for the engine, and the end result is a Regal that's capable of achieving 26 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg highway.

McLaren announces comprehensive restructuring
Fiat and Ferrari aren't the only ones undergoing a comprehensive restructuring as longtime rival (both on and off the track) McLaren has announced a major reorganization of its operations and several management changes.
The biggest shift for McLaren is the split between McLaren Automotive (which will produce the new MP4-12C supercar) and the McLaren Group (which operates the racing team). The roadcar unit is being split off into its own operation, based out of the McLaren Production Centre, which shares its grounds with the McLaren Technology Centre next door.
The two companies will now report to two separate boards, which will in turn be accountable to separate shareholders. But to keep things sufficiently confusing for the rest of us, most of the key players – including executive chairman Ron Dennis, team principal Martin Whitmarsh, CFO Andy Myers, incoming legal counsel Tim Mumane and shareholders Mansour Ojjeh and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Essa al-Khalifa – will continue to serve on the boards for both companies. Richard Lapthorne, who was until now serving as non-executive chairman of the single unit before the split, will be leaving the company. Details in the press release after the jump.

Ford presents new Focus load-logger for early next year

Ford has unveiled the latest model of the new Focus line-up in 2011 - the Focus station wagon in the vicinity.
Like the upcoming Focus hatch, the state influenced styling of the Fiesta, making it a much sharper and more aggressive look. Ford says the newcomer a dynamic balance between appearance and functional benefits to offer.
While the engine details were not disclosed, it is expected that the new Ford EcoBoost units shall invoice. These are small turbo engine designed for maximum performance and economy and is a 2.0-liter unit with 203bhp available with Ford Powershift six-speed dual-clutch gearbox are. Like the current model, low-emission ECOnetic version will also be introduced.
The Focus wagon is expected to go on sale starting in early 2011 and is likely to introduce a £ 1,000 premium over the hatch, the list prices from € 19,000 funding.

Lexus is set to introduce the smallest and cheapest car yet - the CT 200h.
The five-door hatchback to compete with models like the Audi A3 Sportback and BMW 1-series as it goes on sale at the end of 2010 and Lexus expects younger drivers to win the brand.
It is interesting that linked the new model only as a hybrid with a 1.8-liter VVT-i petrol engine with an electric motor. There is the choice of the four drive modes Eco Mode "Normal" and focused on efficiency and comfort while the Sport mode, the focus on performance.
It also has an EV (electric vehicle) that the auto mode only runs on fuel and electric meaning zero CO2 emissions. This can be for a little more than one miles at speeds of up to 28 mph
On the outside of the CT-200H is the familiar face appears on the Lexus IS sedan. The sharply sloping roofline and back-end there is an elegant and distinctive silhouette from Lexus.
Within the usual Lexus buyers receive quality metal surfaces, a nosedive hyphen and soft materials.
The CT-200h will go on sale at the end of 2010 with prices expected to start at around £ 22,000.

2010 Aston Martin DBS UB-2010 Special Edition
Dubbed the UB-2010 Limited Edition, the special DBS models are a product of Aston’s Works Service program, which is typically employed by customers desiring personalization to the nth degree. In this instance, Bez himself specified the unique color scheme, which includes an “Azurite Black” paint hue, metallic bronze leather with woven seat inserts, and a special “Cryptic Titan” interior trim finish.
Each DBS UB-2010 will wear special doorsill plates with Bez’s signature. Aston says Bez will personally sign off on each of the UB-2010 cars, lending his signature to the car’s final inspection plate as well.
Only 40 examples of the UB-2010 will be manufactured --20 coupes and 20 Volantes -- but Aston has yet to set prices for the special-edition cars. Should you miss out on the run, however, we imagine Works Service could build you something similar -- sans the Bez autograph -- for the right price.

TOYOTA RECALL UK NEWS UPDATE
Toyota's recall crisis continues to embarrass the beleaguered company as it grapples with an issue that could affect a vast number of its cars - and deliver eight million dents to Toyota's cast-iron reputation for quality.
It's a physically small but very serious problem - accelerator pedals in a small number of Toyota's cars have been malfunctioning; the worst case scenario being the pedal sticks and the vehicle keeps moving after you've taken your foot off the gas.

A Sticky Situation for Toyota!
The ramifications are huge however and the Japanese car maker is issuing recall notices on eight million of its cars round the world to make sure that the potential problem is resolved as quickly as possible. Of those eight million cars, 1.8 million are from Europe with over 180,865 Toyotas in the UK believed to be affected.
The problem is believed to originate from the pedal parts made by US automotive group, CTS Corp which are used in some of Toyota's cars. The group also has a division up in Scotland which supplies these 'throttle position sensors' to Toyota's factories in Derbyshire and France.
Toyota says that a solution has been found which reinforces the pedal and is being made available to its European dealers from next week. The fix can't come soon enough though - Peugeot Citroen has already announced recalls on 97,000 of its Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1s in Europe because both cars are built at one of Toyota's factories and use components from CTS Corp. Meanwhile Renault, which also uses parts from CTS Corp, is said to be "monitoring the situation".
